Admission Requirements

Architectural Draughting NQF 4 & Architectural Technology NQF 5

Higher National Certificate

  • National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a higher certificate admission, a minimum of 40% pass mark in English on either First Additional Language or Home Language level with a minimum of 40% pass in Math Literacy or Pure Math or;
  • Senior Certificate (SC) without endorsement or equivalent with a minimum of 5 subjects passed with 33%
  • EGD (Engineering, Graphics and Design) subject is advantageous but not compulsory.
  • Candidates with 2-year work experience relating to the proposed study Program as well as adequate communication skills are eligible to enroll and study.

Two-Year Certificate in Architectural Technology and Theory

Higher National Certificate

  • National Senior Certificate (NSC) or equivalent with a minimum of 4 subjects passed and minimum pass rate of 50% in Pure Math, English – First Additional or Home Language and EGD.
  • Students who qualify to study Arch Tech (NC) and met said criteria may apply directly into the qualification. The only additional admission requirement will be a compulsory “bridging course” at an extra cost to familiarize the individual with the software applications.

Three-Year Architectural Technology National Diploma

  • National Certificate (NC) with a Diploma admission. All NSC designated subjects with a pass rate of 50% or
  • Advanced or Higher Certificate in field of interest.
  • 3 year work experience (RPL) and proven ability in the proposed field of study.

Four-Year Bachelor's Degree

  • National Senior Certificate with Degree admission. A minimum of 40% for English with a minimum of 55% for 4 DESIGNATED NSC subjects or
  • National Certificate (V) with Degree admission and a minimum of 60% in English AND Math Literacy and Pure Math.
  • A Higher or Advanced Certificate or a 240 or 360 credit bearing diploma in a cognate discipline.
  • Additional requirements will be based on a case-by-case merit.
