COURSE DESCRIPTION
The National Certificate & Diploma (NQF 6) in Architectural Technology will apply the science of architecture and typically concentrate on the technology of building, design, and construction. The qualified architectural technologist can or may negotiate the construction project and manage the process from concept to completion. Architectural technology covers technical building, design, the design of construction details, the design of parts of buildings and the presentation of the design. The learner will be able to apply the technical knowledge and skills to create building designs, analyse building code requirements, prepare construction drawings, and action administrative tasks during the construction phase. This diploma places a strong emphasis on energy efficient sustainable designs whilst learning to use state of the art design BIM computer technology for residential, industrial, commercial, & institutional buildings.
