Our Architectural Technology students are in full competition mode following the great news on our recent TOP TEN finalist for the PG Bison Competition.
On the 5th of September, we submitted 4 entries for the Caesarstone Student Designer competition and we are keeping our fingers crossed that lady luck will be on our side again and award us another finalist (or 4 😉)
Similar to the PG Bison 1.618 competition, this prestigious competition is open to all Architecture or Design Tertiary Institutions (maximum 5 entries per faculty, per Institution) so as you can imagine, the competition will be tough.
The competition is currently in its 12th year of running and has become well-known for creating job opportunities for the winners and finalists, as industry professionals recognize the competition as the ideal opportunity to headhunt young design talent.
This year’s brief was to design Tenebris Lab’s, first concept store. Tenebris Lab, South Africa’s leading technology studio, focuses on developing software and games for virtual reality (VR), augmented reality, mixed reality games and app development. The building had to reflect the brand’s innovative identity, personify its technology first values, and showcase the products and services it provides.
Our learners were inspired by various elements, each resulting in a unique building. Now we have to just wait for the judging process to begin and hope that one (or all) of our entries catches the judges eye. Visit the home of AEC Education at www.cad4all.co.za
