AUTODESK CERTIFIED USER

LEARN. DESIGN. CERTIFY.

Design and make a better world. Start with certification.

Whether you are an educator helping students prepare for college or a career, or a student looking for a competitive advantage, an Autodesk certification can make a difference. Strong design software skills are a great asset in both the academic and professional arenas. Skills and knowledge to use state-of-theart Autodesk design software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, Maya, 3DS Max, and Fusion 360, along with the Autodesk Certified User certification give students a significant advantage in achieving college or career success.

Close the skills gap. Validate your students’ expertise and knowledge.

Autodesk Certified User (ACU) is an industry-recognized credential that can help designers, engineers, and makers succeed at any stage of their career. As more and more industries experience a skills gap as they hire new talent, the Autodesk Certifed User certification provides a reliable validation of skills and knowledge. An official certification from Autodesk can lead to enhanced academic success, accelerated professional development, improved productivity and increased credibility.

Are you ready to become an Autodesk Certified User?

ACU certification is an excellent way for students with about 150 hours of real-world Autodesk software experience to validate their software skills. Earning the User-level certifications while in school gives students confidence as they continue to master Autodesk products and pursue the Professional-level certifications in the future.

Hands-on learning meets industry-recognized certifications.

The Autodesk Education Community offers students and educators free software, learning materials, and classroom support by giving them experience with the same design software that professionals use every day. By partnering with Certiport, the leading provider of certification exams, you also have access to tailored learning materials, practice tests, and Autodesk endorsed certification exams. These materials are easily integrated in your curriculum and courses, and they help prepare your students for the Autodesk certifications.

Individuals who pass an Autodesk certification exam receive an electronic certificate suitable for printing and framing; the official Autodesk certification logo for use on business cards, resumes, and letterhead; and validation of their credential through the Certiport portal where schools and employers can validate the certification. They can also claim an official digital certification badge to promote on social media, email, and online portfolios. The certification badge gives them the ability to share their skills online in a way that is simple, trusted, and can be easily verified in real-time.

STILL HAVE QUESTIONS?

Autodek Certified User (ACU) is an industry-recognized certification for students with 150 hours of real-world Autodesk software experience. It serves as an official validation for students’ knowledge and ability.
The workplace demands design skills in the following industries: Animation, Architectural Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Drafting, Engineering, Entertainment & Media, Industrial Design, Interior Design, Makers, Manufacturing, and Sustainability. The Autodesk Certified User certification helps educators effectively teach and validate digital communication skills, while providing students with certifications that demonstrate real-world competence to prospective employers and academic institutions.
The certification validates the recipient’s technical ability and industry-standard proficiency. It is an official endorsement from Autodesk that the recipient has the know-how and skills to succeed in today’s job market. The certification is awarded based on the individual’s performance on either the project-based exam, where exam candidates are required to work through the questions directly in the Autodesk applications, or the ACU in Fusion 360 selective response exam where candidates answer questions directly tied to their knowledge of the software. All exams were created based on the research about design and engineering skills required by industry, government, and education.
The Autodesk Certified User (ACU) certification can be earned for the following programs.
  • AUTODESK 3ds MAX
  • AUTODESK Auto CAD
  • AUTODESK Fusion 360
  • AUTODESK Inventor
  • AUTODESK Maya
  • AUTODESK Revit
The Autodesk certification exams are not based on a specific yearly release, but instead are based on a series of fundamental tasks and questions that are not release specific. You will not need to order exams of a specific release to match the software release in your lab. The exams will work with the three latest software releases of the Autodesk software.
To earn the certification, an individual must pass an examination administered through a Certified Authorized Testing Center (CATC). Each Autodesk certification exam corresponds to a particular Autodesk software application used for design and represents a single certification. All Autodesk exams are created with input from Autodesk subject-matter experts and are psychometrically validated. The scenario-based questions provide real-world context for individuals.
Autodesk certification exams validate an exam candidate’s knowledge and skill within scenario-based contexts via two question types:
  • Live-in-the-Application questions: These questions require the candidate to complete a task or perform a function within the Autodesk application.
  • Linear-based questions: These questions include traditional true/ false, multiple choice or matching formats.
The exam objectives for the current Autodesk certification exams are listed on Certiport’s website at www.certiport.com/autodesk.
Contact a Certiport Authorized Testing Center (CATC) and register to take your exam. To locate a CATC, contact Certiport at www.certiport.com/catc. You can also register your school or institution to be a CATC at no cost.
It is easy for a school or institution to become a Certiport Authorized Testing Center (CATC). Please visit www.certiport.com/go for more information.
As soon as you pass an Autodesk exam, the certification will be viewable online using your Certiport test candidate ID. You have access to view, print, and share your official certificate or to download the certification logo highlighting your accomplishment by logging onto www.certiport.com.
Once you have been issued an Autodesk certification badge from Certiport, you will receive an email notification from Credly. That email will include instructions for claiming your badge. Your badge will be tied to the same email address used for your Certiport portal account. You can announce and promote your Autodesk certification to your network and potential employers by displaying your badge on social media and other online destinations.
A school or institution can purchase an ACU Classroom or Campus Site License to certify their students with an upfront, one-time annual cost instead of purchasing individual vouchers. Your territory manager can help you decide if this is the right solution for your institution.
