Do you train SAQA qualifications?

SAQA registers qualifications on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) upon recommendation of the QCTO. Yes, CAD4ALL Institute of Applied Architecture is a SAQA recognised professional body and all our national academic program offering are South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) developed qualifications.To confirm the status of CAD4ALL as a training provider, please peruse the list at https://www.saqa.org.za/recognition-of-professional-bodies

All South African training service providers must be accredited to offer registered SAQA qualifications. Yes, CAD4ALL is accredited with its primary accreditation training quality assurance body (ETQA) which is with the Construction Education Training Authority (CETA). In 2011, we initiated our first accreditation approval with CETA as it was the only CAD & Architectural Technology qualification available at SAQA at that time.

Our Head Office and main campus is in the upmarket northern suburbs of Tygervalley Central, Cape Town Certain CAD4ALL programmes are also offered in a convenient online format enabling accessibility virtually from anywhere in Africa. Our vision is to hold our footprint up North in Gauteng in the next academic year due to our large online clientele based in Gauteng & surrounds.

The first step is to attend the scheduled CAD4ALL campus tours/Open days (listed event dates on the website)at a campus near you. If you are undecided to which programs you are interested in, our student admissions will assist with a complimentary academic consult with detailed specifics to your career path enquiries and admission requirements needed. Furthermore you will be provided with a CAD4ALL prospectus and checklist where you can browse all the information on our national programmes offered. Alternatively, you may complete your application online. The academic year follows an annual cycle and commences in February for fulltime students, but applications open up in June of the previous year. Seats are limited and fill up quickly so it is best to apply early as late registrations may affect your chances of receiving a placement offer for your first choice of study. All registration and enrolment applications are met with IMPORTANT deadline dates that may only be extended with a late penalty fee and price increase as per the institute terms and conditions policy.

Are you validated by SACAP?

No we are not. We have been engaging with SACAP over the last 3 years to ensure that our current students have a pathway to register with them. As of late 2022, our students of past and present can register with SACAP in the Apprenticeship category designation. We have integrated our curriculum with this new designation to ensure our students are able to meet portions of their requirements during their studies with us. Our institute regularly seeks consultation with SACAP on curriculum, pathways and engages with SACAP’s webinars. Registration with SACAP under a category most suitable for them is the student’s responsibility and is recommended by our institute.

What are your admission requirements?

CAD4ALL has detailed information,please request a “detailed admission requirements” document from info@cad4all.co.za ,alternatively you can view more detailed information on our admissions web page https://cad4all.co.za/admission-requirements/ . The admission requirements are slightly different dependent on your course choices. National Diploma (48733 Architectural Technology NQF 6) National Certificate (48734 Architectural Technology) with a diploma admission. National Certificate (48734 Architectural Technology NQF 5) NSC) with a Higher Certificate Admission, a minimum of 40% passing English either First Additional Language or Home Language level with a minimum of 50% pass in Mathematics Certificate (SAQA 66071 Architectural Draughting NQF 4) NSC) with a Higher Certificate Admission, a minimum of 40% pass mark in English on either First Additional Language or Home Language level with a minimum of 40% pass in Mathematical literacy or Mathematics *Applicants are encouraged to attend the compulsory academic consults for specialised information towards your career pathway.

How are classes conducted?

If enrolled at CAD4ALL, our academic offerings provide you with the option to study full-time, part-time or blended. Our academic staff are industry experts that are fulltime employed for in contact learning with a provision of a daily timetable and academic term planner. If you cannot commit to a full 15-20 hour weekly in-contact class, we have you serviced in our part-time or online platform. You will get to know and engage with fellow students and lecturers to foster connectedness and learn to grow in a virtual environment. Alumni Success – Student now Draughting lecturer

My tertiary educational journey at CAD4ALL started in 2016. I had just completed my High School journey and looking forward to studying Architecture. It was always my dream to be an Architect. I enrolled for the CAD 1 Course (The Computer Aided Drawing Office Practice) in my first year, 2016. I learned the basics needed for droughting in my first. All the basic software skills need to enter the industry and actually working with the software was taught to us in our first year. After completing this course at the end of the year I enrolled for the next to do the CAD 2 Course (Multi-Disciplinary Draughting course). The CAD 2 course exposed us to more of the mechanical and electrical fields of the industry. We were a small class of about 12 people and I really enjoyed that. The one-on-one time needed with lecturers was always there. After completing the CAD 2 course, I enrolled for the National Certificate: Architectural Technology. It was a way more different experience from my previous two years of study. From doing normal everyday office work to designing and collaborating with peers was a total game changer. There were a lot of ups and downs with peers and lecturers, but we got through those tough times. It was a truly challenging field of study. Upon completion of the course I was tempted to stop studying and go into industry, but my parents encouraged me to continue and complete the entire course. And, so I did. I enrolled and completed the 2-year National Diploma: Architectural Technology Course in 2019 – 2020. It was a 2-year course consisting of 1-year Theory (2019) & 1-year Practical (2020). The theory year was on another level. In the sense of we dove deeper into the technical aspects of designing and how the designs would actually function in the real world. The practical year saw us go out into the Architectural Industry and apply what we have learned from our theory years. I was lucky enough to work directly below someone who had their own company. I am truly grateful to have had that experience with him as I learned so much from him. After completing the theory year I stayed on with his company for a few months. I then left his company due to personal reason and for career growth. I then joined the CAD4ALL team to the latter part of 2021. At first I was still finding my feet within the company, and that happened really quick. I found myself lecturing classes, doing short-course and many more responsibilities. I am really enjoying what I’m currently doing. I do wish to further my studies and get my full Architectural Qualifications. My dream is to become the best and most skilled artisan of my trade.
