The PG Bison 1.618 Education Initiative is currently in its 28th year and was created to recognize the future interior and architecture designers and key decision-makers in the SA design industry. The competition culminates in an awards ceremony year on year and established itself as an integral part of the syllabus at the majority of the credible design institutions across the country. CAD4ALL has been the only architectural design institution in the Western Cape that was selected as finalists for the past 2 years in a row, 2019 and 2020 respectively.
Last year in 2019 after entering for the first time, CAD4ALL was awarded with a student as a TOP 10 finalist in the national design competition. Jano Fourie, a CAD4ALL second year Architectural Technology National Diploma student in 2019 was shortlisted from hundreds of entries across South Africa to the TOP 10. The PG Bison 2019 brief was for a solution to South Africa’s ever growing densification challenges. Jano’s proposal, inspired by the aperture of a camera, allowed for multiple units to be arranged around circular courtyards while adapting over time to suit the clients needs.
