3D printing is making a physical part from a digital object that you created with CAD software. 3D printing is a fast way of creating parts by depositing thin layers of plastic from the bottom up until the object is complete.
CAD4ALL’s most recent trip last week to the Southern Cape was aimed to provide introductory training in 3D printing. Ryan Woodward, a CAD4ALL employee well versed in 3D printing delivered an exciting training session to our hosts and educators of Langenhoven High School. A small contingent of Langenhoven pupils were keen to be part of the training action and joined in attendance.
Seeing the energy and enthusiasm from Langenhoven High in the training sessions, another 2 additional educators from neighbouring high school Morester were included. Educators and pupils were impacted by the 3D intro training given and to round it off all participants were briefed to create a 2-bedroom house plan in Autodesk FUSION 360, which was exported and a printed prototype was given of what was completed in the end.
It was a productive two days and CAD4ALL is excited to be a part of this growing trend of 3D printing and harnessing the education thereof.
