For decades, private higher education has triumphed over many challenges to provide an alternate pathway to conventional educational systems.
This November, we at CAD4ALL INSTITUTE OF APPLIED ARCHITECTURE are pleased to announce that another stride has been made in the battle against the obstacles faced by private institutions.
The professional body of SACAP now provides a professional pathway to CAD4ALL students as a resource opportunity with the release of the South African Council for the Architectural Profession’s (SACAP) Apprenticeship programme, CAD4ALL welcomes this progressive decision toward inclusivity.
This official programme means that CAD4ALL students of past and present will finally be able to register with the professional body.
This process, which students can find out more about from the SACAP official Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/SACAPOfficialPage/photos/a.1500407186928304/2943949485907393/ will allow students to register as members on SACAP’s database and provide them with a structured pathway toward registering as a professional.
This is a welcoming pathway to the previous system, which required a lengthy documentation process for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
While this is a refreshing option, it is not without its shortfalls. For this reason, we will guide all our students toward the correct protocol to ensure that past and current students can easily and efficiently register with their professional body.
We will provide dates on which an information session for each cohort will be hosted at the campus, online and on-site, to explain the process to alumni and students.
After years of engagement with the relevant stakeholders and battles against misinformation, we celebrate this small win in the grander scale of our overall vision for the future: creating the next generation of future-ready architectural designers.
In summation, this progression is iconic in the support structures and governance offered by SACAP in the cultivation of integration in the industry.
